Horseshoe Bay movers who know the ferry staging, The Sanctuary protocols, the steep village grid, the District street occupancy permits, and the Highway 1 route. One flat rate, confirmed up front.
Every Horseshoe Bay quote is a flat rate scoped to your move: what you own, the access at both ends, and the distance between them. No hourly meter ticking while you wait on a loading zone.

Someone who has carried a couch up a Vancouver walk-up reviews every quote before it goes out. The price we confirm is the price you pay.
New couch? Extra stop? We review the price with you before move day. Nothing changes without a conversation.
Every Horseshoe Bay move packs the same way: our uniform tubs fill the truck floor to ceiling, wall to wall, then the furniture goes in. No loose boxes stacked on your couch.
Horseshoe Bay is West Vancouver's westernmost village, nestled in a cove at the entrance to Howe Sound. The settlement sits on a compact grid where Bay, Bruce, Royal, Nelson, and Chatham streets climb steeply from the waterfront up toward Marine Drive and Highway 1. The housing stock ranges from older cottages scattered across the grid to view homes perched high on the slopes above the bay. The neighbourhood is defined by two distinct realities. One is the ferry terminal, one of BC Ferries' busiest hubs, which brings massive traffic surges and dictates routing for moves to Bowen Island and the Sunshine Coast. The other is the village itself, where the Streetscape improvements, steep lots, and the newer mixed-use Sanctuary building create unique access challenges. We scope the ferry staging, the grid geometry, and the District permit rules, then quote one flat rate confirmed up front.
The terminal handles about 7 million passengers and 3 million vehicles every year across three berths. Route 2 runs to Departure Bay in Nanaimo, Route 3 goes to Langdale on the Sunshine Coast, and Route 8 connects to Snug Cove on Bowen Island. The holding compound expanded to handle 1,265 stalls, yet busy summer sailings still create backups along the Highway 1 and 99 approach. Every move involving Bowen Island or the Sunshine Coast has to stage through this cove. The surges around departure times can lock up the streets and fill the Horseshoe Bay Park lot. We monitor the sailing schedules and the road conditions to plan the truck approach. We avoid the peak surges and position the load to minimize the impact on the terminal zone while getting the job done. We discuss the ferry schedule during the booking call and build the timing into the flat rate.
The village core relies on a tight grid. Bay Street, Bruce Street, Royal Avenue, Nelson Avenue, and Chatham Avenue form the main arteries, but the terrain forces a steep ascent from the water. The Streetscape project's first phase, completed in 2021, added a bike lane and planters in the core, which improves the streetscape but reduces the lane width for large vehicles. Parking is scarce, and the lot near Horseshoe Bay Park fills quickly. Sewell's Marina at 6409 Bay Street adds boat traffic and local visitors to the mix. The grid climbs toward Marine Drive, where Gleneagles Community Centre at 6262 Marine Drive anchors the upper end of the village. Moves that end near the community centre or the adjacent golf course require a different approach than the waterfront units. We scope the street width and the grade at quote time. The crew stages the truck carefully to keep the boulevard clear and maintain flow past the planters and bike lane. The flat rate includes the time needed to navigate these calmed, narrow corridors.
The Sanctuary sits at 6695 Nelson Avenue, a complex of six low-rise buildings with 159 homes and 493 underground parking stalls. The development includes 13,700 square feet of commercial space alongside the residential units. Moves here follow standard mixed-use building protocols. You must book the service elevator and provide a certificate of insurance naming the strata. We confirm the exact entrance, loading access, and elevator dimensions in advance. The commercial deliveries add traffic to the boardwalk and the underground access points. We check the commercial schedule if your unit is near the retail front. The boardwalk fronts Horseshoe Bay Park, a one-hectare waterfront space that sees heavy weekend use. We time the load to avoid the park crowds. The flat rate covers the elevator discipline and the interior carry from the secure entrance to your unit.
West Vancouver enforces strict rules on street occupancy. A Street Occupancy Permit is required whenever a truck or container occupies municipal property, which includes the boulevard, sidewalk, roadway, or lane. The District requires the application to be submitted ten working days ahead via the Street Occupancy Request Form. You must include a sketch of the area and an insurance certificate naming the District as additional insured. The Traffic Technologist reviews the request, sends a payment link, and emails the permit upon completion. Fees run $133 plus $2 per square metre of occupied area per week, with a one-week minimum, and temporary no-parking signs cost a minimum of $267 for up to 10 signs per location. We manage the permit application, track the approval, and ensure the documentation is on hand on move day. The flat rate includes the coordination time to keep the truck legal.
Access to Horseshoe Bay comes directly from Highway 1, the Upper Levels Highway. The Eagleridge interchange just east is where Highway 99 splits off toward the Sea-to-Sky corridor. Because the village connects to the mainland highway network, the Lions Gate Bridge 13-tonne weight limit does not apply here. Trucks can use the standard highway route without the Lions Gate restriction. The District's Noise Control Bylaw 4404 prohibits construction noise on Sundays and statutory holidays, with weekday work hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We plan the move window to respect these hours and the road rules. The flat rate covers the highway access and the scheduling discipline needed to work within the bylaw.
Horseshoe Bay offers a unique mix of ferry logistics, steep village geometry, and building protocols. We understand the grid, the terminal traffic, and the District rules. We scope the move, check the permits, and quote one flat rate confirmed up front. Call or text Nash Moving to plan your move.

Horseshoe Bay is one of BC Ferries' busiest hubs with three berths handling Route 2 to Departure Bay in Nanaimo, Route 3 to Langdale on the Sunshine Coast, and Route 8 to Snug Cove on Bowen Island. Every move to or from Bowen Island and the Sunshine Coast stages through this terminal. The holding compound handles significant volume, and busy summer sailings can back up the Highway 1 and 99 approach. We plan your move around sailing windows and monitor the terminal traffic to keep the truck moving efficiently.
Yes. The District requires a Street Occupancy Permit whenever a truck or container uses municipal property like the boulevard, sidewalk, roadway, or lane. You must submit the Street Occupancy Request Form with a site sketch and an insurance certificate naming the District as additional insured ten working days ahead. The Traffic Technologist reviews the application and emails the permit after online payment. We handle the coordination so the crew arrives fully authorized.
The Sanctuary sits at 6695 Nelson Avenue with 159 homes and 493 underground parking stalls. Moves here follow the building's specific protocols, including service elevator bookings and strata insurance requirements. The building fronts Horseshoe Bay Park with a boardwalk. We confirm the loading access, elevator dimensions, and staging rules in advance to fit the work into the building schedule without delays.
The village sits on a compact grid where streets like Bay, Bruce, Royal, and Nelson climb steeply from the waterfront toward Marine Drive. The Streetscape project added a bike lane and planters in the core, which calms traffic but narrows the effective roadway. Parking fills fast, especially near the park and Marina. We scope the street width and grade at quote time and stage the truck carefully to keep the lane open and the move on schedule.
Horseshoe Bay is the western terminus of Highway 1 on the BC mainland, so the Lions Gate Bridge weight limit does not apply here. The truck can access the village directly via Highway 1, past the Eagleridge interchange just to the east where Highway 99 splits off. This means heavier trucks are not restricted by the 13-tonne limit that affects routes through Lions Gate. We plan the approach to avoid the ferry-rush surges that hit the Highway 1 and 99 interchange.
