The Nash guarantee

One price. In writing. Before we lift a thing.

Every Clayton quote is a flat rate scoped to your move: what you own, the access at both ends, and the distance between them. No hourly meter ticking while you wait on a loading zone.

Scoped to your move

No one-size price list. Your rate reflects your inventory, your stairs, your parking, and your kilometres.

Confirmed by a human

Someone who has carried a couch up a Vancouver walk-up reviews every quote before it goes out. The price we confirm is the price you pay.

How Nash moves you

Crates first. Furniture second.

Every Clayton move packs the same way: our uniform tubs fill the truck floor to ceiling, wall to wall, then the furniture goes in. No loose boxes stacked on your couch.

Clayton Heights was not left to chance when it was built. The master plan designed the neighbourhood around rear lanes and deliberately narrow queuing streets. Garages face the lane, and the streets themselves are narrowed to slow traffic. That design choice creates a specific moving reality. A full size truck often cannot stage at the curb near the front door because the lanes are tight and the street widths leave no room for two way traffic when vehicles are parked. Surrey parking rules on streets between six point six and eight metres wide require parking on one side only. A three point five metre clear travel lane must remain open for emergency access at all times. Back lanes are generally permitted for parking but many are too narrow for large vehicles. We plan the staging around the legal curb stretch, around a corner where visibility is clear, or in the lane where the driveway meets the street. The carry from that legal spot to your door is measured honestly. Distance is not a surprise fee. It is part of the flat rate we confirm before you book.

Fraser Highway and the SkyTrain corridor

Fraser Highway cuts straight through the neighbourhood, and it is currently a major construction zone. The Surrey Langley SkyTrain is being built on an elevated track along the corridor, with stations coming at Hillcrest on 184th Street and Clayton on 190th Street. Pile driving, gantry work, and concrete pours are scheduled through 2027. The construction has reduced most of the Fraser Highway corridor to single lane traffic around the clock, restricted access at 64th Avenue, and temporary no left turn rules onto Highway 10. These closures shift as the project phases change. We route around the active work zones and time the drive so the truck is not sitting in a bottleneck. If your property fronts Fraser Highway, we plan the staging on a quieter side street and confirm the exact spot with you before the crew arrives. The corridor is built for heavy vehicles, so getting here is straightforward. Managing the timing is what separates a smooth move from a delayed one.

Coach houses, rowhomes, and the dense housing mix

The housing stock in Clayton is intentionally dense. You will find rowhomes, townhouse complexes, coach houses built over lane garages, and small lot detached homes with secondary suites all sitting on the same street. This mix changes how furniture moves from the street to the interior. Coach houses often have side entrances that sit closer to property lines, and rowhomes share tight side yards and low eaves. Some small lot homes have been modified over the years, which means narrower hallways and tighter stair turns than older neighbourhoods typically show. We scope the access path and the interior turns at quote time. We count basement suites as separate units, note detached garages used for storage, and measure the actual walk from the truck to the door. Every metre of carry repeats with every load, and every turn inside matters. We build those realities into the flat rate so the number you confirm covers the house you actually have.

Strata rules and visitor parking enforcement

Visitor parking enforcement is standard across Clayton. The density means shared resources, and strata councils track turnover closely. Towing claims happen when designated visitor spots fill up early, especially on weekends. We ask for your building rules at quote time, note the exact visitor zone, and arrive early enough to secure a legal spot. If your address is a townhouse complex or a new strata building, you will likely need to book the service elevator in advance. Buildings only accept elevator bookings from residents, so we cannot make the reservation for you. What we do is tell you exactly what to ask the strata management for, how long a window your move actually needs, and we schedule the crew to match the slot you get. If the strata requires a certificate of insurance naming the corporation, send us the name and we issue it ahead of time. We never leave parking or elevator access to chance on move day.

Permits, lane widths, and the legal staging plan

Surrey enforces a seventy two hour street parking baseline, and trucks over five thousand kilograms must park in designated zones unless they are actively loading or unloading. You cannot park within five metres of a fire hydrant, six metres of an intersection, or one point five metres of a driveway. A Traffic Obstruction Permit is only required when a lane or pathway is genuinely blocked. Minor local-road obstructions skip the traffic-plan drawings, but if a street position requires a road booking, the City wants at least two business days of notice. We handle the route planning and any necessary permits at booking so there is no waiting around on move day. There is no special moving permit to hunt down, and we do not charge for permit processing. The price we confirm before you book is the price you pay. We stage legally, move efficiently, and respect the streets that residents live on.

Moving in and out of Clayton Heights

Moves in Clayton cluster around the community anchors, with the Clayton Community Centre on 187A Street, Clayton Park, and the secondary schools along 188th and 184th driving weekend traffic. The Cloverdale Rodeo grounds sit just minutes away, and the May long weekend brings heavy visitor flow that changes the whole area. We fold all of that into the route and the schedule. Whether you are moving from a rowhome off 190th Street, a coach house near the 184th urban centre, or a townhouse complex near the future Hillcrest station, the plan is built on the exact address. We scope the parking, measure the carry, check the strata rules, and route around Fraser Highway before we ever load the first box. Call or text Nash Moving for your flat rate quote.

Clayton questions

Asked before booking in Clayton.

Can the moving truck park directly on the narrow residential streets in Clayton?

Clayton was master planned around narrow queuing streets and rear lanes, which means most residential streets do not allow parking on both sides. Surrey rules require a three point five metre clear travel lane for emergency access at all times. On streets that are between six point six and eight metres wide, parking is limited to one side only. We stage the truck in the lane behind the garage, around a legal corner stretch, or on a designated loading zone rather than blocking the travel lane. The carry from that legal spot to your door is measured honestly and priced into your flat rate.

How does the SkyTrain construction on Fraser Highway affect move day?

The Surrey Langley SkyTrain runs elevated along Fraser Highway with stations planned at Hillcrest on 184th Street and Clayton on 190th Street. Construction has reduced Fraser Highway to single lane traffic in both directions with restricted access at 64th Avenue and temporary no left turn rules onto Highway 10. These closures and detours shift as the work progresses through 2027. We route around the active zones and time the drive so the truck is not idling in a bottleneck. If your building fronts Fraser Highway, we plan the staging on a side street and confirm the spot with you before the crew arrives.

My house is a coach house over a lane garage or a small lot detached. Will the truck fit?

Clayton is built on a dense mix of rowhomes, townhouse complexes, and small lot detached homes with suites. The original design put garages facing the rear lane, and many lane driveways are too narrow for a full size moving truck. When the street position is tight, we park along the legal curb stretch and walk the furniture through the side yard or from the lane. We scope the access path at quote time, account for gated side yards and low eaves, and include the actual carry distance in the confirmed rate.

Are there strict street parking limits or permits I need to worry about?

Surrey enforces a seventy two hour street parking baseline, and trucks over five thousand kilograms must park in designated zones unless they are actively loading or unloading. You cannot park within five metres of a fire hydrant, six metres of an intersection, or one point five metres of a driveway. A Traffic Obstruction Permit is only required when a lane or pathway is genuinely blocked, and minor local-road obstructions skip the traffic-plan drawings. We handle the route planning and any necessary permits at booking so there is no waiting around on move day.

What should I know about visitor parking in townhouse complexes or stratas?

Strata visitor parking enforcement is standard across Clayton. Most complexes track turnover closely, and towing happens when designated spots fill up. We ask for your building rules at quote time, note the exact visitor zone, and arrive early enough to secure a legal spot. If the strata requires an elevator booking or a certificate of insurance, we tell you exactly what to request and we schedule the crew to match the window you get.
