Scoped to your move
No one-size price list. Your rate reflects your inventory, your stairs, your parking, and your kilometres.
Yaletown movers who know heritage warehouse lofts, Concord Pacific tower belts, Drake Street closures, and when the curb needs a temporary permit. One flat rate, confirmed up front.
Every Yaletown quote is a flat rate scoped to your move: what you own, the access at both ends, and the distance between them. No hourly meter ticking while you wait on a loading zone.
No one-size price list. Your rate reflects your inventory, your stairs, your parking, and your kilometres.
Someone who has carried a couch up a Vancouver walk-up reviews every quote before it goes out. The price we confirm is the price you pay.
New couch? Extra stop? We review the price with you before move day. Nothing changes without a conversation.
Every Yaletown move packs the same way: our uniform tubs fill the truck floor to ceiling, wall to wall, then the furniture goes in. No loose boxes stacked on your couch.
Yaletown splits into two very different moving zones, and a crew that treats them the same will run into trouble. The heritage warehouse core along Mainland and Hamilton streets sits on raised rail platforms with narrow lanes and angled parking. The Concord Pacific tower belt runs along Pacific Boulevard and Marinaside Crescent, packing 20 to 40 storey glass high-rises onto former Expo 86 lands. Both areas have their own loading realities, and the flat rate we confirm depends on knowing which zone you are in and what the building allows.
The heritage core is defined by brick warehouses in the district named for CPR crews from Yale, BC. Those buildings now hold loft condos over retail, but the physical layout has not changed. The old loading docks are now restaurant patios, which means curbside access often leads to dock stairs, steep ramps, or a carry from the rear lanes along Mainland and Hamilton.
Mainland between Nelson and Davie, and Hamilton between Nelson and Drake, are narrow, with angled parking, a 30 km/h speed limit, and painted 6 metre clearance lines. Fire-access rules are enforced here, so the truck needs a legal position. We scope the actual path from the street or lane to your door. If the crew has to navigate a ramp or walk around a patio, that distance is measured at quote time and included in the flat rate.
The tower belt is the densest part of the neighbourhood. Buildings like the Yaletown Park complex near Homer and Smithe and the Aquarius complex on Aquarius Mews sit among the city's tallest residential stock. These are strata-run buildings with strict protocols.
You will need to book a service elevator window with the concierge, often a week or more in advance. The building may also require a certificate of insurance naming the strata, a move fee, or a refundable damage deposit. Loading bays are typically accessed off rear lanes rather than the main street. We check the elevator clearance and the bay height before move day so the truck fits. We also flag any building fees during the quote so the number you pay covers only the moving work.
When a building does not have a usable loading bay, or when the lane is blocked, the city requires a Temporary Street Occupancy permit to reserve the curb space. The permit portal charges a signage fee per seven-day period and requires the six-digit meter ID. The city wants seven to ten business days of notice, so we arrange the paperwork when you book rather than on the morning of.
Residents moving in or out of their own address are exempt from the insurance requirement, which means you must apply for the permit. A car parked in a reserved space after the signs go up gets towed. We post the signs on your behalf or direct you exactly where they go so the crew starts working immediately.
Traffic in Yaletown is shaped by construction and design. The Drake Street upgrades phase three ran from summer 2025 through spring 2026, bringing rolling closures, detours, and parking restrictions along the segment from Granville to Pacific Boulevard. West of Hamilton, Drake is now one-way eastbound with a protected bike lane, which tightens the curb for loading.
Richards Street has a permanent two-way protected bike lane between Pacific and Cordova that also reduces usable road space. Pacific Boulevard and the Cambie Bridge ramps carry closures for race day events. We monitor the road status for your specific route. The crew never sits in a queue caused by avoidable traffic, and we build detours into the schedule.
Yaletown hosts events that can block access to streets and squares. Let's Hear It For Yaletown fills Bill Curtis Square with stages and crowds in late July and early August. CandyTown has historically closed Mainland and Hamilton during the November winter festival. The David Lam Park jazz festival takes over the park in early July.
The Taste of Yaletown dine-around runs in October without street closures. We ask about your move date when you call. If a festival is scheduled, we adjust the logistics, move the truck to an alternate access point, or suggest a date that avoids the disruption.
A move in Yaletown is a logistics puzzle. The heritage lofts require a plan for ramps and patios. The Concord Pacific towers require a plan for elevators and strata rules. The streets require a plan for permits and closures. We solve the puzzle before you book. One flat rate, confirmed up front. No hidden fees, no surprises at the door. Usually, yes. The narrow streets in the heritage core and the tight lanes near Concord Pacific often require a Temporary Street Occupancy permit to reserve the curb. The city charges a signage fee and wants seven to ten business days of notice. As a resident moving in or out, you are exempt from insurance requirements, but you must apply for the permit yourself. We tell you exactly where to apply and flag the meter IDs so the crew arrives to a legal spot instead of circling.
They require very different approaches. The tower belt buildings have loading bays often set off rear lanes, and the strata will require an elevator booking and possibly a certificate of insurance. We check those rules ahead of time. The heritage lofts on Mainland and Hamilton are different; the old loading docks are now restaurant patios, so street access often means dock stairs, ramps, or a carry from the rear lane. We scope the actual path so the flat rate covers the extra work rather than surprising you on move day.
The Drake Street upgrades ran through spring 2026 and brought rolling closures, detours, and parking restrictions. The lasting change is the new street configuration, including a one-way eastbound section with a protected bike lane west of Hamilton that narrows the curb. We also account for Richards Street, where a permanent two-way protected bike lane tightens curbside loading. When we quote, we check the current road status for your exact address and build the drive time into the plan.
Yaletown hosts major events that can impact truck access. Let's Hear It For Yaletown fills Bill Curtis Square with stages and crowds in late July and early August, and CandyTown has historically closed Mainland and Hamilton during the winter festival. The Taste of Yaletown dine-around runs in October without street closures. We ask about your move date during the quote to warn you about scheduled events and adjust the logistics if a festival is happening nearby.
The Concord Pacific belt along Pacific Boulevard and Marinaside Crescent features 20 to 40 storey glass high-rises like the Aquarius complex. These are dense strata with strict rules. You will need a booked elevator window, and the building may require a move fee or a damage deposit. The loading bays are often accessed via rear lanes rather than the main street. We verify every rule during the quote so you know the building requirements and we bring the right vehicle for the bay clearances.
